baked cookies on wednesday, after failing to go for morning swim due to a heavy downpour, and after meeting the two accountancy graduates to shop for formal wear.

the cookie mix is from daiso, and it tastes of vanilla. but we added m&m to increase the flavour. different from the previous cookies i made, this one required making it into a dough before cutting out the cookies. and i had difficulty in trying to get that dough. it was consistently too crumbly. until we decided to just give it a try. haha and this is the result! =)


played volleyball yesterday at sentosa. prior to meeting up, there was a commotion on whether there'll be rain. in the end, decided to just try our luck, since the rain might clear up after a while. it didn't -_- but we still played in the rain. beach volleyball was much harder than the grass volleyball we played at the chalet, cause the sand slows us down, and there would occasionally be winds that spun the ball.

i didn't get to touch the ball much, and i wasn't very good at playing. but i still had fun. maybe we should really meet once a month to do this. haha but somewhere nearer ba.

we bully poor yisheng aka pigu. i was just harmlessly covering his feet with sand cause i was bored, but it turned out to be like this. haha luckily he's a good sport=p

had vietnamese food for dinner, where we were really starving. va va voom cafe somewhere near beach road..

grilled pork chop rice, hue spicy beef noodles, chicken wings, spring rolls, cinnamon white coffee (dripped the vietnamese style) and lotus flower tea.

i'm kinda exasperated yet amused at my having to buy stuff in duplicate.

seldom at home so early. haha but today was a very fun day. played two hours of badminton, followed by one hour of watching other people play table tennis. and then i won money at mahjong! haha yay!!

going play volleyball tomorrow at sentosa, so excited! =)

damn school's starting again, and i still want to slack!

still not spending much time at home even after the chalet. tired and sore. arms feel sore, back and neck feels like they're breaking. and my shoulder feels like its on the verge of dislocation. so scary. shall camp at home tomorrow, unless i mad, and decide to join the 2b guys for basketball.

tried Sweet Salty Spicy at Rail Mall yesterday for dinner. A cosy little Thai eatery that has had some good reviews. the food was nice, and the staff were quite friendly and helpful. not a bad place for quiet evenings. tried 5 things there, and i must say they're nice!


pad thai, mango salad, chicken skewers, tom yam seafood soup, and chocolate cake.

watched the dark knight at vivocity today, and batman is very cool! his gadgets and attitude is 帅, and the joker gave a good psychotic performance too. then we headed to ikea, where i only bought 1 scented candle (lavender) that i hope can help me sleep. we went queensway shopping centre too! cause i wanted to buy a haversack for school, but they were all too ugly, or too big for me. sad =(

dinner was at the orchard TCC that looks like a french cafe! haha the decor was nice, but it has the effect of not really encouraging lingering, dunno why but that was what i felt.

spending money like i'm living it up. but i do want to save some money too, in preparation for rainy days. and i really panic when i feel like i spend too much.

need some time and freedom, hate that school's starting again so soon.

finally the 4 days 3 nights chalet has ended! extremely tired. aching all over. i think i'm getting old. haha

we girls had the whole chalet to ourselves for the first night. and we had a lot of fun planning the meals, and also playing uno, cards and mahjong. =)

this was our dinner on the first night. pizza made from scratch, and then grilled with our selected toppings. yumyum!! out of shape, but crispy and delicious.

our lunch was angel hair pasta with broccoli and sausages in tomato sauce. very nice too!

2nd and 3rd night was 2b chalet. the guys arrived in batches, and so the fun did not start till much later. a bit of regret, but i guess it was still ok. regret too that not everyone could come and stay, but i'm quite touched at the effort of those who came.

after playing badminton on friday, i went swimming with my mom yesterday. and miraculously, i do not have muscle ache. which most probably means, i did not exercise my muscles enough. haha

tomorrow's the chalet! very happy it's finally going to happen. to celebrate 10 years of friendship, to spend some lame frolicking times together! the girls are cooking, and so will the guys, and so this chalet will be different from the past ones we had. we'd better be good at self-entertaining, cause we're so far from civilisation. =p

but tomorrow's also the start of the FYP selection. contemplating whether it's worth the trouble to bring my laptop along, since the selection round lasts till 18th. hmm haven't really given much thought to the FYP, because now it's just going to be compure allocated, so it's all based on luck. and anyway, based on merit, i'd still have many better competitors. haiz,not looking forward to year 4 at all!

there are still times when i think i do not complain enough for you to understand what i think, but i don't mean to be so grouchy.

had marche at vivocity on tues, before watching the bank job. we were prepared to be cheated, queuing in line for food that we expected to be expensive and not fulfilling. but surprisingly, the wait was quite short, and they even offer pizza samples while you wait.

we tried the seafood paella, porkloin and garlic herb sausage, and the smoked salmon rosti. all the items were delicious, and though the meal was quite expensive, but thanks to quanli and ivan, we didn't have to pay. lol

stayed at home on wednesday to be a dutiful daughter who sweeps and mops the floor. but no one wanted to come home to eat dinner together, so i had my dinner at changi airport terminal 3 popeyes chicken! i know i suaku la, now then try =p

the chicken was quite nice, comparable to KFC, but the fries were better. the 'biscuit' though, didn't seem or taste much like a biscuit, and it was a tad dry.

being too full, we then went to take a look at the crowne hotel.

it exudes grandeur and elegance, the interior was mostly dark woods and glass. but the atmosphere can be a bit off-putting, making us feel like intrusive nosy parkers. hahaha

we finally escaped from the crowne, and headed back to TCC for coffee, cake, scrabble, and cryptic crossword.

he had mint choc frappe, i had azuki coffee freeze, and we shared a marble cheesecake. our new pastimes are cryptic crosswords, which are damn hard to solve, and scrabble scramble, a travel sized game that uses dice as the letter tiles, and is quite fun to play. like how he always sticks his head in front, so my face can seem smaller. hahaha

met the girls today for 2 hours of badminton, followed by ktv at chai chee. super tired, but also very satisfied to have shed some sweat. =)

looking forward to chalet on monday!

fish & co for dinner on tues. had some new dish: seared swordfish with asparagus salad. eeks i didn't like it, the citrus sauce was too sour, whereas his peri peri fish was nice.


baked cookies yesterday, but it was not from scratch. baked 36 big n soft cookies, yum yum.


had dinner with qiuling yesterday at marina square spaggedies. she had crayfish and tenderloin combo, whereas i had prawn fusili arrabiata. brownie for dessert. =p my dear girl looked so tired, and she still has deadlines to catch.

went back to ciba today to find the colleagues for lunch. they brought me to megume japanese restaurant and daily scoop at sunset way. haha had a 2 hour lunch, my face like quite big figuratively =p [though my supervisor said i seem to have a rounder face, sad]

i can't believe that popular card has dining offers at fish & co and californian pizza kitchen!

the pizzas we had the other day.. bbq chicken and milan.. i preferred milan. haha my huge sad face cause i didn't bring popular card! 15% off lehz!

went to support leen at mediacorp last night in the superband competition. and only weeinn remembered to bring camera. hahaha shall wait for her to send the photos.

congratulations that leen went through, but think they'll be facing tougher competition from now on, so good luck! =) found out last night that we're really too old for cheering and stuff, the whistling and the general racket nearly caused us permanent hearing damage! lol

headed over to 85 for supper, oyster omelette and carrot cake! yay, simple happiness.
